Ryan Heitz, Director of Information Security, PMP, AWS/SA-Pro, MCSE

Ryan Heitz is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and SecOps & compliance leader. He supports federal data centers and leads teams of engineers with expertise in incident response and forensics, automation, log management, application hosting, and Amazon Web Services Virtual Private Cloud.

Ryan has served in roles as diverse as project management, business development, IT regulatory compliance, enterprise architecture, monitoring and data center analytics, cloud cost management, vendor management, and technical writing. At the U.S. Department of Education’s Institute of Education Sciences, he supported and directed the design and implementation of the application architecture. He also provides oversight for a service desk that supports web developers and statistical researchers.

“I tend to shy away from conventional wisdom in IT project management,” Ryan says. “I find that customers become most engaged when we take a do-it-yourself approach to system design and service management.
